Contagion: Historical Views of Diseases and Epidemics

Contagion: Historical Views of Diseases and Epidemics is a collection of short summaries, historical documents and bibliographies that provides background information on various diseases and epidemics worldwide. It is part of Harvard University Library’s Open Collections Program and thus is an open access resource. Included are scanned copies of books, serials, pamphlets, incunabula and manuscripts, totaling to more than 500,000 digitized pages. According to the site description, the collection also includes two unique sets of visual materials from the Center for the History of Medicine at Harvard’s Francis A. Countway Library of Medicine.
