Managers and business theorists have long talked and written about the importance of networking with customers, integrating with partners, and outsourcing with suppliers as key strategies for achieving long‐term success in the globalized marketplace. Now, it seems that there is concrete evidence that companies which have focused on the extended enterprise or networked organisation, by developing deep and collaborative relationships internally and externally, perform better for their shareholders.
