Reviews the effort required to draw up a list of possible candidates and assesses the value of using available comparative reviews to identify consulting companies. Sets out some of the additional activities that can be undertaken to help in the assessment of candidates’ capabilities, including: follow-up questions; in-depth workshops; resource interviews; reference checks; and proof of concept. Concludes that organizations do not need to take a leap of faith when hiring consultants, and there are many ways to apply due diligence to the consultant or consulting company before making the final hiring decision.Article type:ViewpointISSN: 1542-894XReference: 39AX359
