RBAC International Management Conference 20113-4 March 2011, Bangkok,Thailand

Sustainable development has been the major objective of national economic and social development of many developing countries. For decades a vast majority of resources and effort have been invested in infrastructure and technological development assuming that strong infrastructure and high technology would bring about sustainable development. Unfortunately, the two major financial crises– the “Tom Yum Kung Crisis” originating in Thailand and the“Hamburger Crisis” originating in the USA – caused adverse effects to both developed and developing countries especially in Asia. The result of these two crises led to a search for alternative strategies for sustainable development and a “creative economy” has been chosen by certain countries, especially Thailand, as a major strategy for development in its 11th Economic and Social Development Plan (2012-2016).

The creative economy requires a comprehensive analysis of the new economy. It is based on creative people to develop creative products, creative services and creative clusters. This conference will provide an opportunity for researchers,faculty and graduate students to present and disseminate their research in this field to the public and the academic community at both national and international levels.

The objectives of the conference are:

  • to create a forum with an atmosphere and an environment that enables an exchange of knowledge and experience among academics and practitioners in the field of management and business studies;

  • to provide an opportunity for participants to disseminate research in the fields of management and business studies among research communities and the general public at both the national and international levels; and

  • to provide opportunities for academic journal publication for suitable papers for participants both at the national and international levels.
