AIMS AND SCOPE
STEM Education Teaching and Learning is a rigorously peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal dedicated to the advancement of STEM teaching and learning across educational contexts. The journal supports submissions from STEM disciplines as well as non-STEM disciplines engaged in STEM education research. Regardless of disciplinary perspective, the journal seeks to publish scholarship that advances policy, practice, research, and theory in STEM education. Submission types include research articles, conceptual papers, general reviews (including meta-analyses and systematic reviews), viewpoints, and practitioner papers.
The journal welcomes empirical studies using quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methodologies as well as conceptual and theoretical scholarship. The editorial team especially encourages scholarship that promotes diversity and retention in STEM fields for both teachers and learners.
The aims and scope of STEM Education Teaching and Learning align closely with those of governmental and non-governmental organizations worldwide that fund STEM education research, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), which emphasizes inclusive and equitable access to quality education.
