Cognex receives purchase orders totaling more than $3 million from TSK Corporation

Keywords: Cognex, Machine vision

Cognex, the world's leading supplier of machine vision systems, has recently received purchase orders totaling $3.1 million from Tokyo Seimitsu Co., Ltd(TSK), one of Japan's leading manufacturers of semiconductor processing equipment. Cognex expects to ship the vision systems over the next four months.

TSK will integrate the Cognex machine vision systems into its wafer prober equipment, which it sells to chip manufacturers who use the probers to test the quality of integrated circuits (ICs) on semiconductor wafers. In addition, TSK will integrate the Cognex vision systems into its wafer dicers, which are machines used by its customers to cut semiconductor wafers into individual ICs after they have been tested.

"We were very excited to receive these purchase orders, which were greater than we expected", said Dr Robert J. Shillman, President, CEO and Chairman of Cognex Corporation. "These orders are continuing signs of both the recovery in the semiconductor business and of the continued confidence that TSK has in Cognex's leading-edge machine vision products."
