Solartron Metrology has extended its new range of linear encoders with the introduction of a pneumatic push version designed for applications requiring fast and reliable automated checking of components. Pneumatic operation allows the moving parts in a fixture to be reduced, resulting in improved reliability and reduced fixture costs.

Currently available in 12mm and 25mm stroke lengths with a quartz glass scale fitted as standard, the rugged Solartron linear encoder is calibrated using a laser interferometer and is accurate to 0.5 microns.

Each Solartron linear encoder is attached to it own "smart" connector containing the probe interface electronics.

This can be plugged directly into the Solartron digital readout or into a PL/PLC via "Orbit",Solartron's networked measurement system.
