Contract electronics manufacturer Karavale Enterprises has been ranked 26th in the 1998 Fast Track 100 league table of Britain's fastest growing companies and is the highest placed electronics company. Sponsored by Virgin Atlantic and compiled by Dr Hamish Stevenson of Templeton College, Oxford, the rankings are based on the percentage annual sales growth from 1994 to 1997. Last year Karavale was placed 30th.
Formed in 1991, Karavale now has manufacturing plants in Welwyn Garden City, England, Cwmbran, Wales and Ennis, Ireland, providing comprehensive turnkey electronics manufacturing services from prototyping to full-scale printed circuit board assembly, test and full box build. Turnover for 1998 will exceed £28 million.
Commenting on Karavale's high position in the Fast Track 100 list, managing director Gerry Howley said:"Whilst it is satisfying to be recognised by Fast Track 100 for achieving substantial growth, our main concern is to continue to be recognised by our customers for providing high quality products and an excellent service."
Fast Track 100 certificates were presented by Richard Branson at the awards dinner on 17 March 1999.
