Process Sciences plans "SMT Bootcamp" training course

Process Sciences, Inc. (PSI) will hold "The SMT Bootcamp" course in Austin, Texas, 5-6 February and in Seattle, Washington 8-9 February, 2001. This two day intensive training course will provide in-depth, practical process understanding to those interested in ensuring quality in electronic assemblies. The course was developed from a need to improve yields and enhance communication on the production floor. A focus on learning proper terminology, and simplicity of approach and understanding provide students with the tools necessary to understand, communicate, and address key concepts effectively.

The course covers the following topics:

  • SMT history and general theory;

  • screen and stencil printing;

  • solder paste;

  • adhesive dispensing;

  • pick and place;

  • soldering, and reflow soldering;

  • wave soldering and cleaning;

  • rework;

  • material handling; and

  • the SMT assembly process.
