A new online resource that simplifies the identification and ordering of peripheral equipment, such as tubes (tracks) and feeders for the GSM Platform,is now available from Universal Instruments.
The catalog allows users to enter specific component types and dimensions. The catalog then searches and reports matching tooling for the component entered. The user is given the option to learn more about the tooling, and where applicable, can link to Universal's Worldwide Sales and Parts Distribution Web site for immediate ordering.
In instances where matching tooling is not available, the catalog directs the user to an online Request for Quotation (RFQ). This system extracts the appropriate component dimensions from the query and forwards a request to Universal's GSM Applications Team to provide a quote for developing custom tooling. A representative from Universal will then contact customers about scheduling and costs.
Currently the catalog can search for any tube or feeder that is compatible with the GSM Platform. A feature that searches matching nozzles for the GSM Platform's Flex and FlexJet® placement heads is in development and should be available by the end of 2000. Until then, inquiries can be forwarded to Universal's GSM Platform Applications Team via e-mail through links provided in the catalog.
The new GSM Platform Application Tooling Catalog is a fully searchable database that can be found online at http://www.uic.com/info/tooling
