Vitronics Soltec and ECD, Inc. have jointly announced a strategic technology alliance to provide reflow soldering equipment customers with a powerful process development tool that will change the way profiling is performed in Vitronics Soltec reflow ovens.
The AutoM.O.L.E.® Xpert System provides a unique set of software tools to help the design engineer define a robust target thermal profile for each specific combination of solder paste and reflow oven used in the assembly operation. This profile can then be distributed to other manufacturing facilities, ensuring exact replication of process parameters.
The system will also allow operators to quickly and automatically set-up reflow solder machine settings to use the target profile with a specific PCB to match the target profile.
The AutoM.O.L.E.® Xpert will then quickly verify that the actual oven thermal profile matches the robust target profile. The machine operator simply runs the PCB and AutoM.O.L.E.® Xpert Profiler through the reflow oven,places the profiler into the Xpert docking station where it automatically downloads data to the oven's computer, generates the actual thermal profile and compares this profile to the target profile. If needed, the oven settings are automatically reset to ensure that the target profile is generated on an on-going basis – all without operator intervention.
The ECD AutoM.O.L.E.® Xpert System is now available as an integral feature with Vitronics Soltec Xpm reflow soldering systems.
