OK International names Mark Cowell President

Mark Cowell, Vice President of Engineering at OK has been named president of the company succeeding Michael Gouldsmith. Gouldsmith will remain as Chairman and will assist Cowell in various activities.

Gouldsmith states “Mark has played a key role at OK and one of its predecessor companies `Metcal' and has been responsible for the design and development of its `SmartHeat' soldering tools. More recently, as a member of the Executive Management Team, Mark has played an increasing role in the overall management of the company and is the ideal person to fill this role”.

John Pomeroy, CEO of Dover Technologies, OK's parent company said “We are very pleased to have someone with the experience of Mark Cowell to take the reins at OK. Michael Gouldsmith is truly the `father' of OK, as he started with a small tool company over 20 years ago and built it into an international firm with offices throughout the world and manufacturing in Asia and the U.S. I am very pleased that he will stay for some period of time and assist Mark in his new responsibilities.”

Mark Cowell has worked for OK and Metcal for 22 years, mostly in engineering and product development. He has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UC Davis. A native of the bay area he currently lives with his wife and 3 children in San Carlos, CA.
