SIPLACE team integrates successfully into new parent company.
In early 2011, ASM Pacific Technology Ltd (ASMPT), the global market leader for chip assembly and packaging solution, acquired the SMT placement machine business from Siemens. As a result, the SIPLACE team became a new business unit within ASMPT under the name ASM Assembly Systems. For Günter Lauber, CEO of ASM Assembly Systems, the recently published financial results of publicly traded parent ASMPT underscore the progress which has already been made in integrating the placement machine business. With its sales of US$ 626.3 million, the new business unit already accounted for 37.8 per cent of the company’s record sales of US$1.66 billion.
