“Lost in the literature.” People with intellectual disabilities who identify as trans: a narrative review

Nathan Keates is Lecturer and PhD candidate in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities at the University of Kent with a focus on autistic adults and their lived experiences and exploring an improved comedy intervention for anxiety. His research comes from the social science and psychology perspective investigating autism/neurodevelopmental conditions, disability and performance.

Eleanor Dewar is an Applied Psychology PhD candidate at the University of Kent. Eleanor’s wider research focuses around the interplay of disability, education, pedagogy, gender and technology. They also run their own research consultancy Ocelot Educational Research, works as Interim CEO and Trustee of the disability charity BlueAssist UK.

Krysia Emily Waldock is a PhD candidate in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities at the Tizard Centre, University of Kent. Krysia’s research focuses on autistic people and religious/humanist groups from a critical disability studies perspective. Krysia’s other research interests include research on marginalized groups and qualitative methods.
