Dear members of the TLO family (authors, reviewers, Associate Editors, members of the Editorial Advisory Board, readers, etc.).

It has been my honor, privilege and pleasure to serve as your Editor in Chief for the past four and one half years. Personally, I have learned a lot and benefitted greatly from being in that role. I shall be forever grateful for the opportunity. But nothing is forever, and the time is propitious for me to pass the baton along to a distinguished member of the TLO family, Dr Anders Ortenblad. Indeed, in my own scholarly work, some of Dr Ortenblad’s research published in TLO has been central to my endeavors. I know that he will work hard to ensure that the journal grows in importance, grows in the size of its audience and grows in its impact. I send him my very best wishes for success.

Looking back over the past four plus years of publication, I continue to believe that TLO’s emphasis on international studies is wise. I believe our authors and readers are everywhere; certainly, organizations are everywhere. I also applaud the vast range of different types of organizations that have been studied – firms, governments, charities, public agencies, etc. I believe the increase in the number of quantitative studies published by the journal represents solid scientific advance. I look forward to even more interesting research to be published by the journal.

I especially thank the central editorial offices of the Emerald Group, Mike Joyce and Jo Alexander in particular, for the outstanding assistance they provided me. I trust they will do no less for Dr Ortenblad.

My very best wishes for continued success and prosperity to all members of the TLO family.
