Learning organizations and organizational learning have been extensively studied over the course of several decades. As is the case with all other disciplines, theory and practice are closely intertwined and mirror each other through their mutual development. Initially, an individual or a group has an experience and documents it. Then someone tries to construct a coherent body of knowledge out of that information by developing a theory. A theory is then tested in practice and either verified or sent for further refinements. Groups of people try it in practice, notice additional instances that should be considered and encounter new obstacles...
