We called for papers for this special issue asking a number of questions about what could be learned from the cumulative body of work using the Watkins and Marsick (1993, 1996; Marsick and Watkins, 1999) Dimensions of the Learning Organization framework, particularly the Dimensions of the Learning Organization Questionnaire (DLOQ) (Watkins and Marsick, 1997). The Dimensions of the Learning Organization framework defines a learning organization as ‘characterized by continuous improvement, and by the capacity to transform itself’.
