TECHLIB/STACS: a library housekeeping application of BASIS Available to Purchase

This article, and the one which follows on CAIRS‐ LMS, describes two library housekeeping packages which have been developed using the database systems of BASIS and CAIRS respectively; although these packages can run in tandem with their respective IR systems, this does not have to be the case, and both packages will run independently. It should be noted that no attempt is made to describe in detail the standard features of the respective IR systems; descriptions of these can be found elsewhere, including the Gower directory of text retrieval systems.
