Lined pipe specialists open new base

The new head office of 3P Ltd, which manufactures PTFE lined pipe and other specialist plastic products,has been officially opened by Jean Burelle, international chairman and managing director of parent company Plastic Omnium.

A special guest at the ceremony was Mr Burelle's father Pierre, who founded 3P's parent company Plastic Omnium 50 years ago. Also visiting from France was Charles Chevant,international managing director of 3P.

3P manufactures PTFE and other performance plastics, including semi-finished products, for a wide number of industries. The range includes plastic lined pipes for chemical and process industries, advanced wear products to replace metal-based bushes and other components, plus threadseal tape to BS 7786: 1995 for plumbing and associated trades.

The move to Stafford Park,Telford, from a smaller site at nearby Halesfield coincides with the company's new status as a limited company within Plastic Omnium.

Jean Burelle cut a ceremonial PTFE tape to open the new building. He praised the success of 3P's UK workforce. "People make factories grow, not machines or cheques, and I want to thank you for your work here."

Richard Houlgate, director of 3P Ltd, said: "3P has been making strong progress in the UK in recent years,and the move to bigger and better premises enables us to maintain high quality and service levels to customers while moving into new markets".
