The author is one of the very few who was in an extremely senior position with BAC during the planning, developing, building and testing of Concorde. By 1975 he had become Vice‐Chairman of the company and had been responsible — at the highest level — for the VC 10 and BAC 111 programmes before turning over to the SST.
