Handy Digimatic protractor for the engineerKeywords Mitutoyo, Gauges

The new Mitutoyo Series 187 Digimatic protractor is claimed to be the ideal hand held gauge for accurate angle measurements of machines, mould jigs,components and many other jobs around the production environment (Plate 2).

It claims a number of features which contribute to its all-round versatility. These include a programmable pre-set point, an adjustable measuring blade, data output, zero setting and a direction selection switch.

Two versions of the protractor are available with either a 150mm or a 300mm blade which is more suitable for measuring larger components. Both versions provide full 360 degrees measurement capability and have a resolution of 0.01 degrees/ldegree.

Also from Mitutoyo is its new Series 7 quick mini thickness gauge which claims successful digimatic digital measuring technology. A new model extends the measuring range up to 25mm and it is considered ideal for measuring plastic,sheet metal and film. The handy, pocket sized gauge is designed for easy and comfortable single-handed operation.

The Series 7 claims a large, clear LCD display and it converts between metric and imperial. Its measuring faces are hardened, ground and capped. The 0-25mm(0-0.5") measuring range is reported to be accompanied by a resolution of 0.01mm(0.0005") and a guaranteed accuracy of +0.01 (+0.0005").

As with all of Mitutoyo's inspection instruments, the Series 7 Quick Mini Thickness Gauge comes with a full 12-month guarantee and can be supplied with a calibration certificate, traceable to national standards.
