GWI announce their new Thermo-Hunter Q-188 non-contact thermometer, with an innovative high intensity laser aiming device to pin point the exact centre of the measurement area (Plate 8).
This hand-held easy-to-use instrument has a range of 18 to + 870°C. It can be used for the fast, accurate measurement of temperature from distances up to 3m from the target just point and read the display.
The Q-188 detects the infrared energy that is radiated from the surface of all materials, and converts this information into a direct digital reading in °C or °F, accurate to ± 1 per cent of reading. An interesting feature of this new instrument is its ability to monitor targets as small as 65mm Ø at a distance of 3m.
The red laser aiming feature produces a bright red light spot which makes it very easy for the operator to aim at very small targets some distance away.

Incorporated into the Q-188 are additional features which include 0.1~1.0 adjustable emissivity, maximum reading memory for temperature scanning across targets, and both analogue and digital outputs, trigger lock, and high/low alarms.
The Q-188 is an invaluable detection tool in any temperature measurement programme, whether it is for production or manufacturing processes, service, preventative maintenance or fire protection.
