Dunlop Precision Rubber has signed an LTA (long term agreement) with Bombardier Aerospace of Montreal, Canada, to supply aerospace seals for the CRJ700 and CRJ900 regional jets (see Plate 12).

Under the agreement, Dunlop will develop, manufacture and support four seals for the two aircraft. Three are manufactured in fabric reinforced silicone rubber: a pilot escape hatch seal, a service door seal and another escape hatch seal. The fourth seal is an electromagnetic shielding design and is fabricated in a special metal-loaded polymer. It will be fitted to the door of the avionics bay to guard against lightning strike and other forms of interference.
