The massively adverse impacts of climate change are becoming more evident as they also become more destructive with each passing year, and many leaders in science and government have realised that unless we make significant changes to how we live and work, we are tragically destined to endure significantly worse climate conditions than we are already experiencing. We are therefore challenged to address the Earth's warming by eliminating our dependence on fossil fuels and shifting to a Zero Greenhouse-Gas (GHG) economy and society.
Yet, this is indeed a human challenge, and it is one unlike any that humanity has ever faced. It will require extensive changes in our ways of living, would completely shift the basis of our entire global economy to a new foundational system.
The purpose of this chapter is to present a comprehensive Systems Thinking Framework that can be used as an Implementation Roadmap to reach across many disciplines to provide an accelerated roadmap that cities can follow to reach Net Zero Transformation for our cities and Communities.
