Young people encounter many different adults across the settings and systems where they live, learn, work, and play (National Commission on Social, Emotional, and Academic Development, 2018). The science of learning and development provides insights into creating and sustaining equitable experiences and opportunities for youth to learn, develop, and thrive (Cantor et al., 2019; Osher et al., 2019; Osher et al., 2020). Relationships and contexts possess the potential to deeply shape youth experiences and opportunities (National Commission on Social, Emotional, and Academic Development, 2018; Osher et al., 2020). All adults, in all settings and systems, have the power and the potential to shape and support youth success (Osher et al., 2020).
