I was honored and humbled to claim John Lounsbury as a friend and colleague. Like many others, I respected him as an educator, researcher, author, speaker, teacher, editor, and professional. On the personal side, I enjoyed being friends with John and hearing about the unbelievable birthday parties he and Libby did for their grandchildren. He was such a caring person, both professionally and personally, always taking time to listen and encourage.
As a professional, he graciously shared his knowledge and expertise continuously modeling effective teaching practices. He never stopped being a compassionate advocate for young adolescents, stayed current with educational trends, and was always willing to learn and change, as needed. Conversations with John left you thinking and moving forward.
