This chapter presents different lenses to interpret observed teaching practices. Inspired by the French Didactics work of Brousseau (1998), we contrasted pedagogy and didactics to shed light on what teachers paid attention to. We contrasted teachers’ attention on teaching practices that emphasized classroom management with their attention to teaching practices that support students to learn mathematical concepts and processes.
