Abstract
In the face of the COVID-19 global pandemic, our University sought to understand, in real-time, the impact on students of all taught sessions moving online. The institution devised a process to capture student feedback after every individual taught session. Now, post-pandemic, the practice of students evaluating every taught session they attend is firmly embedded across the University. This chapter explores the process undertaken to arrive at this position, highlighting the benefits of receiving student evaluative feedback on a session-by-session basis and how it is used to shape teaching, which directly impacts the experience of the students providing the feedback. This innovative approach ensures that students receive the benefits from participating in evaluations about their own learning experience as they progress on their programme of study, rather than simply shaping the learning experience for their successors through end-of-module and programme evaluations.
