For today’s reform-minded principals, especially those interested in utilizing some of the modern technologies profiled in this book, there loom roadblocks of rules that threaten to significantly limit or eliminate reform opportunities. These rules, in forms such as statutes, case law, or even district-level policy, are frequently perceived as substantial barriers to change. Sometimes, this is so. More often, however, when examining law and policy broadly through the eyes of digitally minded principals, the law actually encourages substantial reform in our schools.
