This chapter presents the use of digital badging when offering a program that develops CTE faculty members for community college instruction. Digital badging is presented as a way to address common challenges in faculty development such gaining faculty participation, motivating faculty, and demonstrated the expected value of completing a faculty development program. The chapter addresses benefits for those completing faculty development and the institution. The chapter provides one specific example of using digital badging, and three examples of how badging can be expanded in faculty development. This chapter presents a method to create badges that can be added to a program at little if any cost and a low time commitment. The chapter concludes by calling for research to explore the impact of using digital badging in faculty development.
