Abstract
This chapter discusses the diminishing value of a business degree, sometimes resulting from the failure of educational institutions to adequately prepare students for the needs of the workplace. Several suggestions are offered that can help to better prepare students with the competencies that will be needed in a new economy. These are largely related to the relationships between academic institutions and the external business world.
