A resource for work‐based learning: The process of “freewriting”

The phrase “work‐based learning” has become the overarching term for a number of methods. The methods themselves pre‐dated the existence of the term but now the term provides a home for approaches which were counterposed to academia. Ironically, such approaches today find a place in academia, as work‐based learning is increasingly seen as a legitimate route to qualifications. A “Handbook of Work‐Based Learning” is under development for Gower showing what work‐based learning has to offer at the strategic level of the big picture and long time horizon, what tactics are available to implement the strategy, and the methods through which the principle is operationalized. The following edited version of one method, “freewriting”, illustrates the approach.
