Untapped the world of peer coaching

Purpose – argues that the development of peer coaching requires an organization to have a coaching culture already in place. Describes how to develop a peer coaching system. Design/methodology/approach – bases the article on the peer coaching programme at Becton, Dickinson and Company, a US global medical device and technology company. Describes the use of peer coaching at the company, explaining how it is integrated in its leadership and other development programmes. Explains the skills involved in peer coaching. Findings– highlights how peer coaching can strengthen leadership when used as part of a leadership development programme and also in workplace settings.
