This book is modelled in part on the Aslib “Directory of operational computer applications in United Kingdom libraries and information units”. It is arranged in three sections — Applications; List of libraries; Processing Centres, Bureaux, Networks; and has two indexes to Library Type, and Computers. It includes references to operational applications in 43 libraries, which compares well with the 170 libraries in the Aslib Directory, and is a good indication of the rapid growth of library automation in one state in Australia. If support is forthcoming, future editions will be extended to include other states.
