The newest star to brighten the American educational firmament has been Career Education. With all the ballyhoo of Hollywood, Sidney Marland, Commissioner of Education in 1972, introduced the stunningly new concept that college was not necessary or desirable for all. With Federal monies behind him, school districts and colleges began vying for funding to set in motion the wheels of progress.
