Personnel — the appreciating asset of business

Most people I meet wonder how I came to be involved in the people business. I started life as a trainee civil engineer with the railways and, after some structural engineering and a few years in local authorities, decided that contracting was the only way to use my qualifications and energy. This has meant that the biggest part of my working life so far has been spent working with people.
