Significance
In Japan, the immediate focus of political attention is an upper house election on July 10. In South Korea, a politically inexperienced conservative president took office last month. He faces an opposition-controlled parliament that can block his legislation. North Korea is still grappling with COVID-19 but continues to test new missiles at a rapid pace.
