Significance
Gas is still coming from Russia at a reduced rate, but all of it is now going to the separatist Transnistria region to allow it to generate affordable electricity for Moldova. As a result, Moldova is having to buy gas at a higher price from other sources to cover its own needs.
Impacts
This month's ban on six television channels is intended to stop Russian war propaganda.
Silencing the TV channels will reduce the continuing influence exerted by politician Ilan Shor from abroad.
Further 'accidental' Russian missile landings inside Moldova will keep tensions high.
