This systematic review aims to examine previous literature which have evaluated library service quality (LSQ) using the LibQUAL + model published from 2020 to 2024.
The data were extracted from the Scopus, Web of Science (WoS) and Emerald Insight databases, covering a span of five years, that is, 2020–2024 using definitive search terms. Retrieved data were scrutinized and filtered using ICA (Initialization, Conceptualization and Actualization) framework and a total of 35 research publications chosen for systematic review.
The systematic review reports growing application of modern statistical tools to LibQUAL+ findings. It also finds limited psychometric validity of the scale set to be used for using it in libraries of developing nations.
The results of the review suggest the need for considerable works in the developing countries perspective such as India to examine the psychometric validity reliability of the scores of LibQUAL+ instrument.
