Notes that firms are offering benefits and rewards to former employees,citing the example of companies such as British Airways, which offers flight discounts to former members of staff. Considers if this is a good practice,quoting from commentators and human resource managers who believe that it is not and others who believe that maintaining a good relationship with former employees is good for company image and for recruitment. Points out that the idea of alumni schemes has been common among universities for many years and describes what some of these schemes offer. Describes the alumni scheme set up by the law firm, Linklaters.
