Some thoughts on higher education

1974–75 will be, it is expected, the last full year of existence of the polytechnic in its present form, for the merger with the Colleges of Education to establish the new Sheffield City Polytechnic should be effective during the 1975–76 academic year. Only five years have elapsed, therefore, since the initial designation of the polytechnic and another substantial reorganisation is upon us. There are brief comments below upon the achievements during these five years.
