Looking forward

The Service's development is at a crucial stage first because changes are taking place in education all over the country. Secondary education is being reorganised along comprehensive lines. More young people are staying on at school beyond the school leaving age ‐ which itself will soon be raised — and many more young people are seeing the advantages of further education. There is an increasing recognition of the need for closer relations between educational and vocational guidance for those young people who go on to further and higher education.
