A facelift for executive development

The CEGB Executive Development Course at Electricity Hall, Buxton has now been running for over eight years, and during this time over 500 middle to senior managers have attended it for three weeks each. The main subject streams are concerned with: • The policy, structure and financial obligations of the CEGB. • Techniques of quantitative decision‐making and financial planning and control • Human behaviour in industry • Personal skills, eg, chairmanship, making a case • Management by Objectives • Miscellaneous talks such as ‘An Area Board Viewpoint’, ‘My Approach to Management’, by inside and outside speakers • Industrial relations, both inside and outside the industry • Project work in syndicates.
