One of China’s top ten automobile manufacturers has installed a new knowledge-management system to support its growth.

Geely has selected the NetDimensions talent suite for the global learning and talent management of its 20,000 employees.

Since entering the automobile market in 1997, Geely has been developing rapidly through flexible management and innovation. Recognised as one of the most innovative enterprises in China, it sold 432,000 vehicles in 2011.

Geely believes that maintaining a highly trained and skilled workforce is the way to stay competitive. It therefore partnered NetDimensions to implement a three-phase learning and talent-management strategy comprising:

  • establish a robust and flexible talent-management platform to deliver online training programs, foster a collaborative environment and enhance the knowledge-sharing culture among employees;

  • extend the system to include all employees in Geely’s subsidiaries as well as the whole supply chain in an extended enterprise model; and

  • take full advantage of the multi-language aspect of the new software to cover Geely’s overseas employees in Indonesia, Uruguay, Cuba, Belarus and Russia.

Weihong He, Geely’s Senior HR Manager, commented: “We are looking forward to working with NetDimensions to deliver a top-class learning and talent-management solution that can minimise cost, improve employee retention,increase work motivation and, ultimately, improve performance and productivity for the whole company”.
