Recent changes in the world economic and social environment have set higher requirements in respect of the general quality of products and services. A key element of quality improvement is the quality‐conscious management policy. Managers' attitudes to quality are examined on the basis of evidence in the literature as well as by means of the examples of several Hungarian textile and textile‐clothing industrial companies. An attempt is made to identify and to evaluate the various stimulating factors and information sources that may contribute to improving managers’ knowledge on quality.
