Campus greening from social sciences: emerging formulas on social responsibility and teaching innovation

Raquel Martínez-Buján is Senior Lecturer and Dean of the Faculty of Sociology of the University of A Coruña (Spain). Her main areas of research are the dynamics of international migration, social policy and employment and the sociology of care and family. Currently, her current research interests include sustainability in higher education and green campus.

Elvira Santiago-Gómez is Lecturer in Social Research Techniques at the Faculty of Sociology, Universidade da Coruña, Spain. Her research specifically addresses public engagement with, and public assessment of, science and technology in the field of Responsible Research Innovation. With a background in Sociology, her doctoral and postdoctoral research experience focused on European security policies and involved extensive social research around security and privacy controversy in new security technologies in the EU. Recent works on Security Policies and Surveillance Technologies have been published in Governance, Public Understanding of Science, Democracy and Security Journal and Surveillance and Society Journal.

Carlos Diz is Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Communication of the University of A Coruña and obtained PhD in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the same institution. His main areas of research are collective action and social movements. His ethnographic fieldwork has focused mainly on the analysis of the political culture and resistance practices of contemporary activism in the European neoliberal city. Currently, his research interests are expanding to the field of ecology and environmental sustainability.

Jose A. Cortes-Vazquez is Social And Environmental Anthropologist, specializing in the study of environmental governance, nature conservation and sustainable livelihoods in Europe. He received PhD from the Pablo Olavide University (Spain, 2011), as well as a BSc in Environmental Sciences (Pablo Olavide University, 2005) and MA in Social Anthropology (University of Kent, 2009). He has worked as Researcher and Lecturer at the University of Manchester, University of Sheffield, the Pablo Olavide University, University College London and National University of Ireland Galway, before joining the University of A Coruña as InTalent research fellow in 2017.

Montserrat Golías is Vice-Dean in the Faculty of Sociology and Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Communication at the University of A Coruña (Spain), and belongs to the ESOMI research group specializing in the sociology of international migrations. She holds a degree in Sociology, a Masters in International Migrations, with a specialization in research, migration policy and intercultural mediation and doctorate in Sociology. Her research interests include international migrations, identity, citizenship, religious diversity and the Spanish Law of Historical Memory.
