My interest in funding has moved from the practical to the theoretical aspects in line with the changes in jobs described below. The questions I now ask myself about the subject have changed similarly. What a peculiar business it is—to have entire organisations with salaried staff, working parties, advisory committees etc existing primarily to pass money on to other organisations.
