Librarian of the year show

AFTER the disgraceful scenes at Wembley last year, it was probably just as well that this year's Librarian of the Year Show was transferred to the more appropriate surroundings of the Taplow Conference Centre. Despite the change in venue, this year's show drew record entries in nearly all categories; and fears of a repetition of last year's troubles happily proved groundless as most of the day's events passed without serious incidents—although the stewards once again had to be called in during the Middle Management Dressage.
