The 35th International Symposium of Robotics ISR 2004 will take place in Paris, France in March 2004. The host organization is SYMAP, the French Manufacturing Technologies Association having an headquarters in Paris. The Symposium will be held together with INDUSTRIE 2004, a major industrial exhibition, which will create interest and opportunities in the area of robotics.
Robotics has developed into a well-known specialist scientific techniques and technologies over the last 30 years, which have resulted in many useful applications, mainly in the manufacturing industries. The ISR 2004 Robotics Symposium aims to focus its interest on the present and future breakthrough technology developments, which will have a noticeable and significant impact on the third millennium manufacturing activities and on human society as a whole.
Markets tend to pull existing robotics technology towards new applications and industries such as food or pharmaceutical industries, logistics automation,flexible robot automation, virtual enterprises demanding extended flexibility,greater agility, better networking, improved man-machine interaction. On the other side, service robots are more and more appreciated for cleaning,maintenance, health care etc.
