The Character Education Partnership (CEP) has been recognizing schools and districts of character in their National Schools of Character program since 1998. Each year approximately 10 such schools and districts are recognized for exemplary implementation of the CEP’s “Eleven Principles of Effective Character Education.” The 11th principle concerns evaluation. The Journal of Research in Character Education will be presenting case studies of National Schools of Character with an emphasis on their outcome evidence of effective practice. We invite schools that can present a story of systematic and comprehensive implementation along with evidence of the effects of their implementation to submit an article for publication in future issues of the JRCE. The first such article is about Thomas Edison Elementary School, a 2003 National School of Character.
